New Research Backs Canine Cannabis Use For Osteoarthritis. Forbes July 2020

Is your dog suffering from canine osteoarthritis? A new study suggests that CBD may help dogs with this painful arthritic condition.

Canine osteoarthritis is an inflammatory condition marked by pain, stiffness, and loss of mobility. And it can leave dogs lethargic, irritable and reluctant to play, run or jump. Unfortunately, the condition is all too common in dogs.Researchersestimate that it affects at least 20% of all dogs older than 1 year old, with higher risk for older dogs.

The recentstudy, published in the journal PAIN, looked at whether different doses and formulations of CBD might help dogs suffering from osteoarthritis – and the results suggested that it could.

Researchers from Baylor College of Medicine worked in collaboration with the CBD brand Medterra on the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. The 4 week study included 20 large…

Gifting of Daisy Nell new children’s book

Otto the Horse

Daisy Nell trots out her latest children’s book, Otto the Horse, with a special edition gift copy for every Second Grader in Gloucester and Essex. The donation was funded through a collection started by Daisy Nell’s sisters, in an effort they’re calling “Otto Drive”.

Daisy says, “I can’t be in the Essex Second Grades this year with my usual folk music and songwriting residency, so I wanted to give the kids something that may inspire them in these challenging times.” Otto the Horse is a rhyming story about a sister and brother who want to do something about climate change __ so they convince their parents to save gasoline and get a horse.

As with her previous books, the illustrations are by George Ulrich.

The hardcover version of Otto the Horse is available at The Book Store of Gloucester, Sea Meadow Gifts in Essex, and Russell Orchards in Ipswich.

It Bothers Me That You Can’t Have Separate iPhone Volume Levels For Ringtones and Alarms

This from Apple Toolbox:

Can I have a separate volume level for my iPhone ringtone and my iPhone alarms and notifications?

“Unfortunately, at this time, there is no way to separate the volume of your iPhone’s ringer for phone calls from the alert volume for things like alarms, texts, emails, messages, and other alerts–their sound is set at the same volume.

And we really don’t know why Apple ties both the ringer and alerts volume to the same volume slider. It’s doesn’t make sense for how we use our devices today!

So you cannot lower the volume for any alarm you use to wake up in the morning (or for whatever) without lowering the volume for incoming calls.

The current recommendation is to turn down the ringer volume slider each night, then turn it back up in the morning so you don’t miss any phone calls. Yeah…not ideal!”
