About Gloucester 400+The year 2023 marks 400 years in the history of America’s oldest seaport recognizing its settlement by English colonizers in 1623. The theme of the quadricentennial “Our People, Our Stories” focuses on commemorating Gloucester’s history through the lives of all those who lived here, including Indigenous peoples, English colonists, free Blacks, enslaved Africans, the many waves of immigrants who built this city from past to present and those who have visited. The anniversary seeks to be truthful in telling the complex story of the place that is now called Gloucester across its 400+ years. Our mission is to commemorate, celebrate, and promote knowledge of Gloucester’s cultural, social, ethnic, and economic diversity.

FIVE REASONS NOT TO SKIP YOUR HOME INSPECTION

About your home from Jameson at Another Level Home
Inspection LLC

While the market continues to reach new levels of competitiveness and desperation, buyers continue to make compromises to purchase a home. Waiving financing, inspection, and other contingencies, and even using escalation clauses or other measures to secure a home has become the norm. It has always been my opinion that the reason for this trend is from lack of experience. The market is filled with newer buyers, inexperienced agents, and sellers that are in a position of dominance at an all-time high. I work with many experienced…

Deck Season

Decking

Decks are often a favorite of any abode. We all cherish the months we can linger outdoors and watch the sun fall from the sky while sipping our cold beverages. We rejoice when the weather warms up enough for us to open the windows and venture out. The days get longer, warmer and the world becomes a little brighter.

Large-scape paintings on view: April 30 to July 3, 2022

Her works will be on view from April 30 to July 3 at the Museum at 27 Pleasant St., in Gloucester.

Working primarily in acrylic, Rotenberg’s recent paintings are unabashedly beautiful, alive with color and motion. Each composition is vibrant and fresh and represents a new challenge for her. Her canvases are rich in detail, from the foreground and the table on which a vase and bouquet sit, through the center of the canvas with its explosion of blossoms, to the top of the composition where she often includes…
