~ CHASNAZ

The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation is delighted to present Brandenburg and Beyond, a neo-baroque ensemble featuring a combination of flute, oboe, harpsichord, and strings, performing in our annual Bach Birthday Concert on Saturday, March 21st at 7:30pm in the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church, located on the green at the corner of Middle and Church Streets.
The ensemble performs classic baroque works as well as contemporary music written in this century. The resident harpsichordist, Chris Gantner, is a composer who frequently premiers new works specifically for the group. These New England-based artists perform all over the world and hold teaching and performance positions at various orchestras, colleges, and universities.
The program entitled “Bach and His Sons” will feature the following pieces:
Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 by J.S. Bach
Concerto for Flute and Strings in D Minor by C.P.E. Bach
Prelude and Fugue in C Minor for Organ by J.S. Bach
The Short Tempered Klavier by P.D.Q. Bach – arranged for this occasion and unique instrumentation by Chris Gantner
Tickets will be available at the door and in advance (strongly recommended) with more information at: www.gloucestermeetinghouse.org. General admission is $30, students $10, under age 12 free
The historic 1806 Meetinghouse, listed on the National Historic Register, was built for the first Universalist Church in America and is the home of the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church, is located on the green at the corner of Middle and Church Streets (GPS 50 Middle Street). Parking is available on the green, entered between two granite posts on Middle Street, and around the historic district. Gloucester, MA — March 2026 — Rocky Neck Art Colony, Inc. is pleased to announce the inaugural March Music Month, a new pilot program featuring a series of live musical performances curated by Cape Ann Guitar Society. Concerts will take place each week in March at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, located at 6 Wonson Street, Gloucester, an intimate and historically significant venue known for its exceptional acoustics.
March Music Month expands Rocky Neck Art Colony’s artistic offerings by introducing live music into a space traditionally dedicated to visual arts. Past performances revealed the Cultural Center to be a warm, inviting setting for concerts, inspiring the organization to envision this program as an annual event with future opportunities for expanded performances and educational workshops.
“This series is part of our broader effort to welcome new and more diverse audiences to Rocky Neck,” said Elizabeth Carey, CEO. “Music is a powerful, accessible art form, and these performances invite both longtime supporters and first-time visitors to experience the Cultural Center in a new way.”
The series features five performances showcasing a wide range of musical styles.
Sunday, March 8 with Daniel Villela on Classical Guitar at 3:00pm
Sunday, March 15 with Jason Ji on Fingerstyle Guitar at 3:30pm
Sunday March 22 with Steve Lacey on Jazz Guitar at 3pm
Saturday, March 28 with Andrew Cohen on Blues Guitar 5pm workshop; 7:30pm concert.
Rocky Neck Art Colony is proud to partner with Cape Ann Guitar Society, a newly formed 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to elevating local guitarists and bringing global talent to Cape Ann.
In addition to March Music Month, the Cultural Center will host “Women by Amy Sudarsky: Nude Portraits from the Last Decade,” on view from March 4 through March 29. The exhibition features life-size paintings of women who meet the viewer’s gaze with pride, warmth, and quiet strength. Sudarsky, Artistic Director of Rocky Neck Art Colony, has previously taught drawing and painting at Boston University School of Visual Arts and Lesley University College of Art and Design. The exhibition will be open during concert dates and by appointment throughout March.
A modest admission fee will be charged for concerts ($15 for RNAC Members; $20 for Non-Members). Proceeds will help support this pilot program, with the goal of building momentum and establishing March Music Month as a signature annual event.
