Chamber Announces Schedule for Gloucester’s First Summer Block Party on Saturday, July 15

Gloucester’s Summer Block Parties have become a Cape Ann Classic, and the Greater Cape Ann Chamber is excited to be presenting three Block Parties this summer in partnership with the City of Gloucester. The first one will be Saturday, July 15th from 6 PM to 10 PM on Main Street. Party-goers will enjoy fun dining options, live outdoor entertainment and street performers for a family-friendly night on the town. The Block Parties offer local shopping, restaurants, food trucks and non-stop fun!

The following is theschedule of Music & Performers for the July 16 Block Party:

Hi Joey,

Hope this email finds you well. Friends are asking why I haven’t tried to get our 2nd Saturday open mic up on good morning Gloucester, and frankly, I hadn’t thought to ask. 

If possible to include on calendar/monthly:

2nd Saturday open mic at the First Universalist Church in Essex. Signup at 4pm, show starts at 4:15. We have some great features lined up: July 8-Quandering, Aug 12-Peter Crowley & Linda Werbner, Sep 9-Jim Scott

I usually post flyer on Facebook/Instagram too.

If you have ever wondered how to use that telescope in your closet, or what you can see with it, join us. If you have questions like “what are the different telescope designs,” or “how much does that thing cost,” or even “will it fit in my Subaru,” then this night is for you. We’ll tell you where we shop, what not to buy, how we find stuff in the sky, and what we never go out without.

Update: We over doubled their account followers in a day. THE MUSIC/DINING VENUE THAT’S GOING IN THE OLD CVS BUILDING ON MAIN STREET GLOUCESTER HAS AN INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT

As you know we love to help businesses that are starting up. The Cut is gonna be a pretty huge thing so when I saw they had an instagram account that was active for over a month but not gaining too much traction I figured I’d give it a boost with the GMG followers with the following post on Friday night:

The Cut made their first post on June 5th, just over a month ago and has posted 13 times and has garnered 141 followers.

Let’s get that follow number up for them GMG style. Click the link and follow them for interior construction pics of how it’s coming along and I’m guessing the news about what big bands will be coming to play there.

After a month garnering 141 followers, we gave it a push and overnight garnered over 290 followers and checking today they have 314.

Nice little bump from the GMG muscle.

The Young Gloucester Scientist’s Club Presents:  Community Garden Scavenger Hunt on Friday, July 14 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Join the Sawyer Free Libraryfor an afternoon of garden bed exploring, scavenger hunting and a little bit of dirt-based science! In this hour long field trip to the Burnham Field Community Garden the Library’s friends at Backyard Growers will share some of the science behind growing and harvesting your own food.
