Happy Hanukkah! Fresh snow on the Lobster Trap Menorah ahead of first night #GloucesterMA
The giant lobster trap menorah is ready for sundown illuminations and hand painted dreidels created by local children and community. Quiet snow this morning. Peace, hope and light to all who celebrate, near and far.

Owl Prowl
I took a ride with a friend recently in search of owls; specifically screech owls. And we saw this little guy hanging out in the sun. Note the little wink. I also got to see my first short eared owl at Parker River and that was a real treat but the low light at dusk didn’t allow for photos. Keep your eyes open and you may see owls too! (*No snowy sightings for me yet)

Charles H. Shewbridge Obituary and Visiting Hours Information

Charles H. Shewbridge, 67, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, passed away on December 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Rockport, he spent most of his life in Gloucester, where he became a familiar and beloved presence in the community.
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife, Julie, and his children Meghan and Bryan Shewbridge. He was also a proud and caring stepfather to Kenneth Wilcox, Stephanie Danna (Wilcox), Nathaniel Wilcox, and Rebecca Howard (Wilcox).
