Feeling Chilly? The City of Gloucester has designated warming centers for those vulnerable to the elements. A network of organizations and municipal departments collaborate to provide warming center services to our residents.
Action Inc. ( 180 Main Street) provides overnight sheltering for those who are unhoused, operating from 4:30 PM to 8 AM daily, with a capacity of 16 beds and an extreme weather overflow policy. They also offer assistance with heating costs and potential system repairs for income-qualified households (978-282-1000).
The Open Door ( 28 Emerson Avenue) offers their dining room as a warming center (capacity: 50), offering coffee, water and charging stations. Free hot meals weekdays from 4:30 – 5:30 PM. Their Client Services team also provides access to SNAP, emergency services, and vouchers for clothing and home goods.
The Grace Center (264 Main Street) offers a warming center Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-4 PM, and Sundays from December-March, 11AM-4 PM The center provides meals, showers, vouchers, case management, and referrals for its clients. Extended hours are implemented during severe weather.( capacity: 50)
Rose Baker Senior Center ( 6 Manuel F. Lewis Street) (capacity: 100) provides warming center services, and during emergencies welcomes all residents.
Sawyer Free Library ( 2 Dale Avenue), (capacity 150) serves as warming/cooling centers during regular hours.

* It is the goal of Action to ensure that any unsheltered individuals can get the shelter they need. Additionally Action and Grace Center collaborate with Salem and Beverly to provide shelter for those willing to leave Gloucester.

~ The Cut Live ~

Thursday it’s the Third Thursday (music) Therapy FREE show with The Spynz! Each month we offer a free concert as a way to say thanks to the community and make sure that everyone has a chance to enjoy the incredible sound system and huge dance floor! If you haven’t been to a show at The Cut yet, this is the perfect opportunity to scope the scene without having to buy tickets. The Spynz will be playing classic and modern hits all designed to get you dancing! Doors are at 6:30pm, show is at 7pm. There are some seats available on a first come, first serve basis.
Friday is the Brassfed Nation’s Holiday Bash featuring The Jambalaya Horn Orchestra! You’ll feel like you’re celebrating Christmas in New Orleans! This show is ALL AGES, so it’s the perfect opportunity to bring the whole family. Seats are pretty much sold out, but there are still some GA Standing (aka dancing) tickets available! Doors at 7pm. Show at 7:30pm.
We will also have live music in the restaurant from 7pm-9pm. No cover. Just come hang, grab a drink and a burger, and enjoy the cozy holiday vibes!
Saturday we are throwing it down with DJ Vito & Friends in the restaurant from 9 to close! DJ Vito Ferrara & Friends will be with us every Saturday night. No cover. Follow us on social media for guest DJ updates!
Sunday come by and knock out the rest of your holiday shopping list with the Last Minute Holiday Gift Market hosted by Cape Ann Makers Market from 12pm-4pm. They’ll have over 25 local vendors, so you’re sure to find something for everyone on your list. The bar will be open so you can sip & shop, Little Sister will be serving food, and we’ll have all the NFL games on in the restaurant too. The perfect little Sunday!
As always, Little Sister will be serving their Best of The North Shore award-winning burgers (and so much more) starting at 5pm each night and at noon on Sundays. Come early and grab food before the show or stay late and refuel after dancing!

These beautiful horses were offering carriage (sleigh) rides in Rockport….as if it isn’t picturesque enough already!
