Charles H. Shewbridge, 67, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, passed away on December 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Rockport, he spent most of his life in Gloucester, where he became a familiar and beloved presence in the community.
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife, Julie, and his children Meghan and Bryan Shewbridge. He was also a proud and caring stepfather to Kenneth Wilcox, Stephanie Danna (Wilcox), Nathaniel Wilcox, and Rebecca Howard (Wilcox). His greatest joys included his grandchildren, Gavin and Kaylee Danna. Chuck is also survived by his sister Anna Perkins of Maine and her husband, David. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Margaret Shewbridge.
Chuck worked as a screen printer, a trade he took great pride in. Outside of work, he was a passionate fan of Boston sports. On weekends he could often be found at his favorite local restaurants, sharing good food, a game on TV, and warm conversation with his wife and friends. He loved being part of Gloucester’s heartbeat, frequently attending local events, gatherings, and celebrations. His presence was one that people looked forward to—familiar, kind, and always uplifting.
To know Chuck was to know compassion, integrity, and a rare kind of goodness. He touched countless lives with his generosity and steady warmth, and his impact on the people he loved will be felt for a lifetime.
Chuck will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
