Meet Bruno! This sweet Lab mix has come full circle – born to one of our dogs here at the shelter, he was adopted as a puppy and recently returned through no fault of his own. Life took an unexpected turn, but he’s ready to find a new beginning with someone who understands him.

Now a mature boy, he gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with a calm, confident canine friend. While he’s incredibly gentle and kind, the shelter environment has been a bit overwhelming for him. He can be nervous with new situations and sudden changes, so we recommend a quieter home without young children.

Once he settles in and knows he’s safe, his sweet personality shines. He’s loyal, sensitive, and would love nothing more than to be someone’s shadow – the kind of dog who just wants to be near his person.

If you’re looking for a steady, loving companion who’s already past the puppy chaos but still has so much love to give, this handsome guy might be your perfect match.

Bruno is now part of the extended stay club and his adoption fee has been reduced to help him find his forever home sooner.

Sail on adventure during schooner Festival

Our Greet the Fleet sail Friday at noon and Sunday Race Day tickets have sold out already, but you can still join us Thursday evening at 5:00 for the Schooner Challenge, a friendly competition among the local vessels, and Saturday morning at 8:30 for our Heritage Day sail. Just go to schooneradventure.org and click on “Book Now”.

Don’t miss this once a year chance to get up close to the local and visiting schooners from the deck of Gloucester’s 99-year-old Flagship, the last of the dory fishing schooners.

MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN PRESENTS JIM โ€˜Nโ€™ TONIC ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 29th

 

Please join us on Friday, August 29th on the stage overlooking Meetinghouse Green in front of the UU Church for Jim โ€˜nโ€™ Tonic, a loud and wildly eclectic five piece band featuring a saxophonist and upright bass player. They are a cool and beloved group on Cape Ann and beyond who love to have a great time interacting with their audience as they crank out some great tunes!

Our non-profit receiving free-will donations for the evening will be HAWC, Healing Abuse/Working for Change, which provides an essential lifeline of safety and support to women and children at risk from domestic abuse, related injustice and economic peril.ย  Please consider giving generously when the donation box goes around! Meat & Sweet will be the food service for the evening serving up delicious and savory smoked meats and baked goods for all to enjoy!

LIttle Free Library At Stage Fort Park Could Use a Hand

Recently a plea for some help was posted to Facebook regarding the need to fill up the shelves of the Little Free Library on the porch of the Welcome Center at Stage Fort Park. During my shift last week, I took note that some material has been added but it still could use a boost. If you are looking for a good home for some extra books you have around, this is a worthy solution.

Schooner Fest Weekend at The Cut

A Portion of ALL ticket sales for this week/weekendโ€™s shows will go to support Maritime Gloucester and The Gloucester Schooner Festival.


Wednesday is our Gloucester Schooner Festival kick-off party with Lisa Love Experience! Doors are at 7pm, show is at 7:30pm. Tickets are still available but going fast!
Plus, weโ€™ve got Trivia in the restaurant! Free to play. Prizes include show tickets and Little Sister gift cards!

Thursday Closet Case is BACK! This time the theme is LABOR! starring Joslyn Fox from RuPaulโ€™s Drag Race! This show is part drag, part burlesque, part musical numbers, and so much MORE. Tickets are still available. Doors are at 8pm. Show is at 8:30pm. Meet & Greet with Joslyn Fox is also available!

Friday is the final Gloucester Block Party on Main Street, so definitely stop by! In addition, weโ€™ve partnered with Cape Ann Guitar Society for an incredible show with Fabiola Mendez. You may have seen her on Tiny Desk with Bad Bunny! Doors are at 7pm. Show is at 8pm. Tickets are still available!
Weโ€™ll also have live music from Peter Tentindo in the restaurant starting at 8pm. No Cover.

Saturday We have Back to the 80s playing all your favorite hits from your favorite decade in the Venue starting 8pm (doors at 7pm). Come dance the night away with us! Tickets are still available!

Sunday Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel return to The Cut with local faves Wood & Bone. This evening of southern rock is not to be missed! Tickets are still available. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm.

As always, Little Sister will be serving their Best of The North Shore award-winning burgers (and so much more) starting at 5pm each night. Come early and grab food before the show or stay late and refuel after dancing! They offer a late-night menu on Friday and Saturday nights.
