An absolutely fantastic time was had by all at our Fish Chowder competition at The St Peter’s Club

Not enough can be said as to how grateful we are to the local restaurants who came to compete. I recognize their efforts, not only supplying the ingredients but their time and energy. It’s events like this that make the Gloucester community so unique and special.

Castle Manor Inn, The Causeway, Chez Moi Chez Vous, The Lobster of Gloucester, Oak To Ember, Saltwater Grille, Machaca, Minglewood Harborside, Richie Baressi, Seaport Grille all rose up and came with great energy and fantastic fish chowder! If you care about community, please consider patronizing these restaurants!!!!

Congratulations to Chef Dan Lavalla from Castle Manor Inn for the win. For the record Chef Dan has won back to back, first in the Essex Clam Chowder competition and now the St Peter’s Club Fish Chowder competition! The votes were so tight that 1 vote separated first second and third with everyone else just votes away from 4, 5, 6 and 7th place.

In second place by 1 vote was local legends Peter Zappa at The Causeway followed by Meatball Challenge Grand Champion Richie Baressi representing The Crow’s Nest!

Huge thanks to Pat and Jimmy Dalpiaz who were behind the scenes every step of the way. Thanks To Anthony Saputo and Marco Numerosi, Billy Shields and his wife Nancy who did a great job keeping the competition running smoothly! Last but not least the bartenders at the club that kept the drinks flowing with a smile.

FYI the club is open to new memberships. You do not have to be Italian, you do not have to be from Gloucester. It’s a great newly renovated club that offers members an inexpensive place to hold parties and gather to make memories!

Champs James Gattuso, Chef Dan Lavalla and Kaylyn from Castle Manor
