My View of Life on the Dock

Winter Wonderland…

During GloucesterCast 768, the cast mates shared some of the shows they are streaming and recommend to others. Our viewers chimed in and, at Joey’s suggestion, have compiled the list for your reference. This is probably not a complete list of all that were mentioned and feel free to add your own thoughts. I will keep a running list as best as I can and update occasionally. Happy watching!

Free and open to the public

Cape Ann Symphony Musicians Unleashed Concert Series goes ON BROADWAY! for their upcoming concert on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 3:00 PM at The St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1123 Washington Street, Gloucester.
ON BROADWAY! features a group of singers from the Cape Ann Symphony Chorus, local musicians and special guests led by CAS Chorus Director Brittany Betts. The multi-talented Betts will lead the company as well as contributing Vocals, Trumpet, Flugelhorn, and Percussion for the concert.
The ON BROADWAY! Company includes CAS Chorus members:
**The program includes songs from Hamilton, Something Rotten, The Sound of Music, Camelot, Songs for a New World, Into The Woods, Dear Evan Hansen, a George Gershwin Medley and two audience Sing-Along Medleys of hit Broadway classic and contemporary songs.**
Brittany Betts is excited to bring the music of Broadway to the Musicians Unleashed Series,
“Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 9, 3pm @ St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lanesville (Gloucester), MA because you won’t want to miss this Cape Ann Symphony – Musicians Unleashed chamber concert of vocal and instrumental Broadway tunes performed by members of the Cape Ann Symphony Chorus (Brittany Betts, Carolyn Howard, Gordon Baird and Byron Winn) along with chorus accompanist, Priscilla Walter, and special guests Wendy Betts (vocals and piano) and Lydia Betts (piano).
We’ve got something for everyone: 4 Vocal Solos, 2 Duets and 2 Group Numbers; 1 Piano Solo; One Set of 4 Gershwin Piano Duets; 2 Sing-Along Medleys…and maybe even a game or two! Songs are spanning the decades – from the 1930s to the 2010s. Grab your ticket early. Don’t wait. It’s not a large space and we want to make sure you get to see it. And, hey, why not come dressed as a Broadway character to add to the fun?”
Brittany Betts

Pinky is available to meet by appointment. Submit an application at CapeAnnAnimalAid.org/Adopt and an Adoption Counselor will reach out to you.
Pinky can be a little persnickety when first meeting him, and doesn’t like being touched much until he has time to get to know you. However once you have this guy’s trust, he will be asking you for head scratches and pets all the time! Pinky has done very well in his foster home, and has really started to relax and open up. He’s even started to snuggle up next to people on the couch and take naps. This is big for this little guy, given the condition he was in when he first came to us. Pinky was found wandering the streets and never claimed, so he was not the most trusting of people in the beginning. Also, when he first got to us his skin was bright pink, irritated and he had a ton of hair loss- we believe a mix of his poor health and lack of positive interactions with people lead to his handling sensitivities- with positive reinforcement and the right medications he has come a long way but there is still room for improvement. Luckily this guy is a major foodie so snacks are definitely the key to earn his trust. He is pee-pad trained and does really well indoors, so anyone looking for a low key dog who doesn’t need to go out much would find their perfect match here! Despite his rotund figure he is quite playful! He loves his toys- stuffies that crinkle and squeak, balls he can chase after- you can tell he really loves a specific toy when he makes little piglike snorts. Once he knows you, he will make happy snorts when you walk in the door as well, which is just the cutest thing ever. Pinky certainly knows how to make you feel loved! There is no way not to love him when you see him sleeping belly up in his big fluffy bed, which he often likes to do. He just needs someone to give him a chance and let him have a bit of time to get to know you, and also someone who understands small dogs who can be a little particular, or dare we say, cranky at times. Pinky is looking for an adult only home so that he can continue to become accustomed to handling and build a bond with his person at his own pace. He is considered a special needs adoption due to his thyroid issues that he is on medication for as well as his handling sensitivities. Despite all his quirks, Pinky can be a really great dog for the right type of person and we’re sure his perfect match will come along. Do you have persnickety little dog experience and willing to give this guy the patience and love he deserves? Submit an application to learn more about him!
Pinky is now part of the extended stay club! Since he’s been here for longer, his adoption fee has been reduced so that hopefully he can find a home sooner! You can find the application at https://capeannanimalaid.org/adopt.html
