seARTS celebrates 18th Annual Art Loan@Bass Rocks Show

Opening Reception June 18, 2024

The Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (seARTS) proudly announces its seventeenth anniversary of partnership with the Bass Rocks Golf Club for the Annual seARTS Art on the Rocks Program. This year’s show presents over 60 works by 33 artists from Cape Ann and beyond, at its opening reception on Tuesday, June 18. The opening provides a chance for seARTS members, along with the public, to enjoy superb art in an elegant club setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The program is a year-round exhibition, showing and selling the work. The fresh and bold work of the 2024 show balances a body of returning artists with new.

Among the newly enrolled artists (from Cape Ann unless otherwise indicated) are Thomas Bentley, Elizabeth Bish, Bruce Fieldman, Jennifer Pinck and Sallie Strand.

Returning to the show from previous years are, (all from Cape Ann unless otherwise indicated) John Abisamra, Andrew Anderson-Bell (Ipswich), Joan Bediz, Ted Bidwell, Heidi Caswell-Zander, Matt Cegelis, Geoffrey Teale Chalmers (Boston), Katherine Coakley, Anne Cowman, Melissa Cox, Jeff Crawford, Rob Diebboll, Christine Gauthier-Kelley, Ann Guyer, Olga Hayes, Helen Kamins, Ken King, Jim Kociuba (Beverly), Kirk Larsen, Nancy LeGendre, Charles McCarthy (Beverly), Crissie Murphy (Marlborough), Susan Oleksiw (Beverly), Judy Robinson-Cox, Debbie Shirley (West Boxford), Marilyn Swift, Juni Van Dyke, Marny Williams and Heidi Caswell Zander.

Pushing The Envelope Just a Little

This may look like another one of my bird posts…..and there is good reason for that! However, this experience reminds me of the importance of pushing yourself a little past your comfort zone for your own benefit. I participated in a “Babes of Summer” bird photography workshop in Middlesex County this week. I left our island to pursue a passion and hone my skills as well as to enrich my interests. It was a little bit out of my normal comfort zone but my interest in photographing bird families overrode my discomfort. As pleased as I am with the results, I am even happier to return to Cape Ann having accomplished a personal goal. Maybe it’s time for you to consider the same. If you do, I’d love to hear about it. Additional photos and story details at Pat D’s Photos and Adventures on Facebook.
