Last week I attended the New England Museum Association Annual Conference in Portland, ME. A “Waterfront Walk” field trip led by staff from the Gulf of Maine Research Institute pointed out a number of interesting comparisons with Gloucester.

My View of Life on the Dock

Hi Joey;
Here is Little Bit. She is 13 and enjoys riding on the Annisquam at a leisurely pace.

We began the quadricentennial celebrations in January with a very boisterous hockey game between the Bruins Alumni team and Gloucester High School Alumni. At that time, the score was 6 – 3 for the Bruins. The Dorothy Talbot rink rocked and was at full capacity.
We hope to repeat that same enthusiasm for a game between Boston College Eagles and Northeastern University’s Women’s College Hockey team thanksgiving weekend. Hosted by Gloucester 400+ and the Athletic Committee, it’s the perfect post-Thanksgiving family event.
Tickets are available on line at www.Gloucesterma400.org
The price has been kept to @$5.00. Gloucester 400+ and the Athletics Committee have made available free tickets to our many partner organizations that serve their clients.

The view from on top of the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jump. Click the post for views from the bottom. It’s pretty impressive. I learned, evidently, that I’m not a huge fan of standing on wooden platforms that high up. Who would have thought?
We got a little bit off track in our normal Sunday routine for a while so it had been a little while since we’d had our Sunday at the Azorean on Washington St. until recently. No steps have been lost in the service, the tastiness and menu variety! It’s so relaxing and enjoyable no matter what food-mood we are in. I chose Shrimp Mozambique rather than my usual beef and I was not disappointed. It was a little spicier than I expected which I relished! Jim had Stuffed Shrimp (not pictured) and Kale Soup. We each indulged in dessert. As always, it was a lovely evening out and only a short ride from nearly anywhere in Gloucester.
