Residents will have their first chance to tour the brand-new East Veterans Elementary School during a community open house on Saturday, Aug. 26.
The public is invited to come by East Veterans Elementary School, 11 Webster St., on Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to check out the new school.
Tours will be led by incoming fifth grade students at East Veterans Elementary School. Great job by these fifth-graders volunteering their time to serve as tour guides to help families and community members familiarize themselves with the school!
Additionally, tours of the new school will be held for ONLY East Veterans Elementary School families on the following dates:

Robin Dagle Towne Writes:
On behalf of all of the parents of children who will be attending, we are asking the community to stop with the negative commentary. Many of us didn’t want this location either and are really sad about it but what’s done is done. Our PTO is working really freaking hard to alleviate jitters in kids (who are used to tiny schools) and bringing our two awesome school communities together. The school is there, traffic will probably be a nightmare for a couple weeks to a month until we all get into the swing of things. But we need to all focus on being excited about the new school the teachers and kids are getting. Constant Facebook comments about how horrible it is creates extra added stress for us parents who are already nervous about it. Let us have a smooth start and please don’t show up the first week and take pics of our kids during drop off or dismissal to make some Facebook traffic point. Just leave us alone and let us start in peace, please. I’m begging. 🙏🏻
