Mostly Boats and Birds — pat morss

Some observations from the past week or two.

Jean Elizabeth at the the breakwater. Could equally have been the coast of Maine.
Adventure passing by late afternoon.
A few days later – where’d her mainsail go?
The Eider kids are growing up. Adults hauling out to rest.
Most of the deer (foraging in our flowers), are now adults.
Some bushes are flowering late after last year’s drought.
Adult Little Blue Heron on “Poop Rock” at Niles Pond.
A juvenile Black-Crowned Heron on another rock.
This Cedar Waxwing looks proud and alert.
A fluttering baby Cedar Waxwing made it to our deck during a rainstorm.
We put it at the base of a tree near its probable nest. Hope it made it.

The Happy Humpback is reopening, so glad to have them back

We’re Reopening!
Hello there! Aaron has spent the last five weeks recovering from a rare and deadly form of bacterial meningitis. He continues to deal with some of the effects of his severe brain and blood infection, but has come a very long way, so we will be reopening this Saturday, August 5th!

In order to allow Aaron more opportunities to continue his recovery, we will now be open Wednesday through Sunday. As a result, our double points will now be offered on Wednesdays since we will be closed on Tuesdays. If you haven’t already, you can sign up for our loyalty program here.

Update On the New Information Kiosks Downtown

Since I recently posted about the digital information kiosks downtown, they have been updated with a new outer shell. It’s like they got a new wardrobe. They stand near the parking kiosks like prim older relatives. Actually, they are sleek and very modern. Check out the original post here if you missed it. Here’s the one along Rogers St near the Greater Cape Ann Chamber.
