I have a framed copy of this in my Gloucester-blue powder room! Mine looks quite old. My young grandsons love the sea serpent –they love looking at the map when on the potty–lol!–the fish, boats, serpent, and all the fine detail. The map is a treasured family artifact. On a shelf below it is another precious family heirloom–a huge vertebra taken from the net of a dragger in Monterey Bay (a ‘grand’ canyon as deep as the land-locked one). Gloucester and Monterey, both beloved historic old fishing towns that I was blessed to live, fish, and sail in.

What a vivid share–thanks ggirlforevah! I lOVE that map and thought people familiar with the O’Maley paintings would like to make the connection.
