Dave Sag’s Blues Party At The Rhumb Line

Dave Says,
The fur flies this Thursday as we welcome back that cyclonic blues behemoth, Mr. Larry Sortwell, to the Rhumb Line Stage. Ably backed by that legendary drumbulationist, Mr. Johnny Loud. These two cats played together for years in the Grapevine Road band and I’m really happy to have them with us. Greg T and myself will be struggling to fill the black hole with Spackle all night long. Sounds like a plan!
And for those who might wish to reach escape velocity away from the grease-soaked Fiesta, why not come on over to Stone Soup in Ipswich this Sunday. From 5 to 8 , they’ll be featuring the dulcet tones of Mark Earley and his Flames of Jive, featuring such luminaries as Tom Palance, Jack’s brother, on Trumpet, John Hyde, keyboard inflammationist, on ivories, Some unsub drummer, myself, on upright, and of course, Mark Earley, on tenor and barium sax. Last time we did this ,we had the house rockin’. Look for many sit-ins and a few spit-ups. highly recommended. We’ll see you there!

I am a live music advocate and seek to share the news of bands playing at local venues in my home town. Being drawn to blues mostly but embrace all kinds of music. One does not have to go over the bridge to hear some real fine tunes, however there are some bands that draw you elsewhere. I hope this blog is a good use to you as it is to me.
Enjoy,
Joanne
