Yet another opertunity slips throught he hands like beach sand, WTF when will we wake up and the majority start running Gloucester instead of the very small but vocal minority.

Joe I guess this is great news for Gloucester. Now that New Bedford is getting out of the fishing buisness (because isn’t that what happens when you put a hotel on the waterfront) all the boats that land fish will now come to hotel free port of Gloucester. It is a shame for Newport that the price of their condos is going to fall, because you know that is what is next for new bedford is all condos and evryone will leae newport for new bedford. Great for use bad for Newport.

Heh Joey, I can’t thank you enough for finding that New Bedford story about a waterfront hotel. What a great find. Now I have to find out if its within their DPA? Do you have any info on New Bedford’s DPA? Ronn

Anonymous is totally correct, there are a handful of Bananaheads in this community who keep on forming new protest groups (with the same membership) so that they can have a new slogan to rally behind or a new bumper sticker to print. Look at Gordo, born with silver spoon in his mouth and living on an estate out at Eastern Point. He told everyone in his column or in person that as long as there was no light that he had no objection to Gloucester Crossing, well we know that he is a hypocrite. And Valerie Nelson encouraging people to go Stop & Shop rather than Market Basket. She must be totally crazy, I am old enough to remember when that was a pristine marsh that was just filled in. I also know that they took advantage of Gloucester’s population and overcharged because there was no competition, but she would have us pay too much or increase our carbon footprint, burning gasoline, because we have to go over the bridge to save money on groceries.
I could go on and on, hopefully our mayor and council will be vigilant, but supportive of changes that are needed to broaden the tax base and create jobs.

I don’t object to a hotel anywhere as long as it fits into the city’s character. We don’t need another ugly building that looks like a modern hotel. Design it like it was a 19th century wharf building that has always been there and I am all for it. And let’s not forget the landscaping!
