Hello Kate,
I have just enjoyed watching and listening to you in your Art Room talking about and showing your one of a kind clothing and some of the other artists whose work you carry. I think my sister, who lives in Marblehead, gave me a piece of hers years ago.
For 35 years I’ve been a professional Alabaster-stone carving artist but I grew up in Fall River, Mass., went to B.U and Northeastern and lived and worked in Boston for 10 years before I moved out West. Listening to you I hear that we share so much of the same language about our art i.e one-of-a-kind, unrepeatable. I suspect, looking at and listening to you that there might be alot in common that we might share.
Elizabeth Enfield, who lives out here near me in Sedona, Arizona and who hales from Glocester loves the Eternal Light I carved that hangs over the arch in the synagogue in Sedona. She told me how your congregation is rebuilding the Temple and encouraged me to contact you with a proposal to create a handcarved, one-of-a-kind, Illumined Alabaster Eteranl Light for your new sanctuary.
I’d like to email you pictures of the Eternal Light so I’ll call you in the next day or two for your email address. In the meantime, I invite you to enjoy our website http://www.alabaster.net
Our son is graduating from Clark University with a Masters Degree and I will be coming back East in mid-May to visit with him and my mother who lives in Providence and my sister who lives in Marblehead.
I would love to meet with you and the design committee at that time to present the possibility of carving an Illumined Alabaster Ner Tamid for your new Temple.
Best To You,
Susan Zalkind
