Hi Joey,
Attached is a photo of the Milky Way that I took last night at Whyte Beach. Please feel free to post it.

In the Company of Whales with Cape Ann Whale Watch
Thatcher, Finn, and I went on a Whale Watch with Cape Ann Whale Watch a few days ago. It has been a few years since I have been on an official whale watch out of Cape Ann….as opposed to chancing upon them on our own boat or with friends or their boat….and I was so excited to go. With lots of health and safety Covid protocol in place, we felt like we had the necessary elbow room and were very comfortable and ready for a day on the water. Cape Ann Whale Watch has lessened the number of passengers they take on each trip, they remind guests frequently that masks must be worn while walking around the boat and while viewing the whales, and they were constantly cleaning and sanitizing during our trip. We saw six or seven individual humpbacks and were pleasantly surprised that a couple were comfortable enough to come very close to the Hurricane as we sat in neutral being sure to respect the boundaries that are heavily enforced while in the whales’ grounds. If you have yet to go on a whale watch….and have never been in the company of whales…you are truly missing out.
Summer is not over…..the whales are not gone….be sure to reach out to Cape Ann Whale Watch and book you trip now!

Pet of the Week- Pearl

Hi, my name is Pearl. I am an independent lady who enjoys the quieter side of life. I do love to be pet gently and get chin scratches, especially on my own terms. My ideal person would be someone who can respect my boundaries and is able to speak “cat language” – someone who can tell when I may not want to cuddle and would rather nap, for example. I may take a bit to warm up in a new environment, but if you take it slow, I am sure to be a great companion. One more thing you should know about me is that I am not the easiest patient at the vet, and may need to be sedated for things like routine exams because I get so stressed. This is definitely something your vet should have experience with and can be discussed before you even bring me in, so don’t worry too much. My ideal home would be one where I can be your one and only furry friend. If you are ready to open your home to a sweet soul, please send in an application so that we can meet on video. I am sure to be grateful for a safe loving home!

Breakwater Roasters
Breakwater Roasters has recently opened on Duncan Street and offers a wide variety of cold brews, coffees, teas, and baked goods. There was a steady flow of customers, safely distanced and enough seating to maintain safety protocols. We experienced friendly and efficient service, including a hello from Eoin himself!

Tigers vs. White Sox Little League Game
We had the pleasure of watching the Tigers play the White Sox at Boudreau field this weekend. Our own Little Leagues days are far behind us, but it was nice to watch kids playing baseball again. It looks a little different in some ways….coaches reminding players to use the sanitizer is a new one for us…..players delayed getting on to field for mask retrieval…..but it’s still kids playing baseball!
Thanks Little League Coaches and Helpers!
We stopped by the Tigers vs. White Sox game at Boudreau field yesterday morning. A post featuring the players will follow, but I couldn’t help but notice how many adults gave up their Saturday morning to help these kids play ball…….And I am very well aware game time is not the only time you all give up for the benefit of the team and the players. Thank you all very much for your time and efforts to help Gloucester’s children get a little bit of normalcy back into their lives. Shout out to you all…..I don’t know any of your names but I am very appreciative of your efforts.
