Really?! What is a Greenhead?
Greenheads are the most vicious things with wings!
They will hunt you down and torture you with their bites.
They will ruin your day at the Beach!
You will run and try to hide, but it won’t help.
The only thing that will work is for you to go under the water and then they will wait until you surface
and unmercifully attack and attack and attack some more.
They will haunt you in your dreams!
Basically they are common house flies on steroids.
Have a nice day at the Beach.
Oh how I loathe the greenheads…

Are they in swarms? We have biting horse flies and deer flies here in Michigan. I never heard of a greenhead.

They fight alone.
Unlike horse flies they can’t be shooed away. They will attack alone until they die.
I have no experience with deer flies.

Any idea if they are still there?

They’re a lot smaller than horse flies, often in the woods, but they have a nasty bite, too.
